10 Day Classic

Visit outstanding cities along the Explorer’s Road like the city Stratford-upon-Avon seated by the England Waterways. This is just one of many places where you can visit historic castles and iconic stately homes.

Day 1

Bruges

Travel to France. If time permits, stop in Bruges with a visit of Belgian St. Salvator’s Cathedral which reflects the various gothic styles.

Overnight stay in the Calais/Lille area.

Day 2

Ferry Crossing

Ferry crossing from Calais/Dunkirk to Dover.

Canterbury & Rochester

Travel to the city of Canterbury and explore the glorious Cathedral. Continue to the amazing Rochester Cathedral. Afterwards, enjoy some cream tea at the Café in the Crypt.

2 overnight stays in London.

Day 3

City Tour & Dinner at a pub

Take a city tour in the metropolis of London and visit the Royal Albert Hall. In the afternoon you’ll have some spare time to explore more great sights of the city. Finish the day with a traditional pub dinner.

Day 4

Stratford-upon-Avon & Warwick Castle

Head to the city Stratford-upon-Avon located by the England Waterways and visit the famous William Shakespeare’s Birthplace. Next, visit one of England’s most beautiful medieval castles: Warwick Castle.

Overnight stay in the Coventry area.

Day 5

Stamford & Robin Hood

Journey along Explorer’s Road to the georgian city Stamford which is well-known from movies like the Da Vinci Code. Visit the impressive Burghley House. Alternatively, follow in the footsteps of Robin Hood by visiting St. Mary’s Church and Southwell Minster. Following this discover Sherwood Forest.

Overnight stay in the Lincoln area.

Day 6

Selby & York

Start the day with a visit to Selby along the Explorer’s Road and visit the Anglican parish Abbey. Head to York and take some time for a guided city tour before visiting the York Chocolate Story.

Day 7

RHS Garden Harlow Carr

Visit the beautiful RHS Garden Harlow Carr - a garden full of fantastic flowers and incredible horticultural treasures. Enjoy some free time in the afternoon exploring York where you could visit the impressive York Minster.

Day 8

North York Moors National Park & Durham

Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the North York Moors National Park during a morning drive. Take a guided tour while visiting the Helmsley Walles Gardens. There you have the chance to have some lunch. Afterwards stroll through Durham and see the impressive Cathedral.

Overnight stay in the Durham/Newcastle area.

Day 9/10

Beamish Open Air Museum & Homeward Journey

Visit the Beamish Open Air Museum. Embark the DFDS night ferry seaways to Amsterdam/IJmuiden. Afterwards homeward journey.
