Option 1: The tunes of Liverpool
Liverpool is known as the hub of the Beatles. Follow in the footsteps of the Fab Four and visit The Beatles Story, the largest Beatles exhibit in the world, before continuing onwards to the Cavern Club. Visit one of the many free museums in Liverpool or spend some time visiting one of the city’s iconic cathedrals. You can choose between the Anglican Cathedral, the 5th largest in the world, or the Metropolitan Cathedral, which due to its round shape is one of the more unique and impressive cathedrals in the country.
Option 2: Manchester – A trail of Music
Manchester has a strong music history, just like its neighbouring city Liverpool. During the Manchester Music Bus tour, you can discover the traces of renowned Manchester bands. Along the way you will drive past the Salford’s Lads’ Club (The Smiths), Burnage (Oasis), Chorlton (Bee Gees) and Stockport (Joy Division). The day comes to a close with a visit to the Robinsons Brewery Centre where you can enjoy a tasting of their ales.
Option 3: Flowers and Bakes in the Peak District
Today, take in the breath-taking landscape of the Peak District. Start the day with a visit to Chatsworth House, home to the Duke of Devonshire. In the afternoon, make a stop in the nearby Bakewell, famous for the Bakewell Pudding. Go on a panoramic drive through the Peak District to Holmsfirth Vineyards where you will have a tour of the vineyards and a wine tasting.
Option 4: With Peter Rabbit into the Lake District
Be enchanted by the natural beauty of the Lake District, a source of inspiration for British authors and poets. Start the day with a visit to Dove Cottage, former home of the poet William Wordsworth. Continue to Bowness-on-Windermere where the World of Beatrix Potter is located. Cruise across Lake Windermere to Lakeside to board the steam train to Haverthwaite. From there continue to Holker Hall for a visit to the manor house.
Option 5: York: Home of Vikings
Travel back in time with a visit to historic York. During you visit, discover the Yorvik Viking Centre, an interactive centre about the time when Vikings ruled England. In the afternoon visit York’s Chocolate Story before stepping into the Victorian era at the York Castle Museum. This museum provides a rich insight into the lives of people under Queen Victoria’s rule and the reconstructed shopping street and houses make it seem as though time has stood still.
