Today’s excursion takes you through the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park, which is known for its untouched and idyllic landscape. Afterwards, a guided tour of the Drummond Castle Gardens awaits you. Enjoy the exquisite view from the garden with a glass of wine.
Start the day with a guided tour through the beautiful Glamis Castle, where you will receive a warm welcome from a piper. Afterwards, visit the private chambers of Queen Elizabeth, better known as The Queen Mother, where she spent her childhood. Learn about the castle’s interesting history, before continuing to the Fife peninsula to St Andrews, where the oldest university of Scotland is located. Enjoy lunch in the beautiful historic city, before visiting the spectacular ruins of St Andrews cathedral.
The day starts with a breathtaking ride on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway which takes a panoramic route through the Cairngorms National Park, giving visitors a unique view of the beautiful landscape. Afterwards, visit the Dalwhinnie Distillery to try a tipple or two of whisky and some delicious chocolate.
On the last day in Scotland drive along the coast to Newcastle, to embark on the DFDS Seaways night ferry. Enjoy a stopover in the beautiful town of Alnwick.
Continue the homeward journey by coach from Amsterdam/IJmuiden.
